Biology 375: Seminar for First Generation Students (1 credit)
Wednesdays 2:25PM – 3:15PM
Facilitated by Sharon Thoma – Distinguished Teaching Faculty and a first-generation college student
In this class, you will:
- Be introduced to biology and biology-related careers in a small-seminar setting
- Be introduced to campus resources important in academic success, geared toward STEM students
- Learn paths to academic success
- Share personal first-gen journeys
- Discuss the challenges as students learn to navigate the university
- Build relationships with students and faculty/staff
