If you are a Rising Junior (Class of 2026) and interested in sharing your experience as a Biology Major to build community among fellow Biology Majors, please consider applying to be a Biology Major Peer Mentor for the 2024-2025 academic year.
The Biology Major mentor program provides an opportunity for 1st and 2nd year students to be matched with 3rd Year and higher students in the major. Through one-on-one and group interactions, the mentor program aims to assist mentees with navigation of campus resources, insight on classroom success, identification of out-of-classroom experiences, and most importantly gaining a sense of community within the major.
With this position, mentors should expect to develop skills in leadership, communication, and one-on-one/group facilitation and event planning. If you are interested in being a mentor, please email your cover letter, resume, and two references (including contact information) in one single PDF document to info@biologymajor.wisc.edu. The deadline to apply is April 12, 2024. If you have any questions about this position, you can contact Biology Major advisor Damien Parks.
