The date honors the signing of the Higher Education Act of 1965, landmark legislation that expanded access to higher education and created financial aid opportunities for millions of students.
Today, the celebration recognizes the achievements, resilience, and contributions of first-generation college students, faculty, staff, and alumni. It’s a chance to celebrate your journey, connect with community, and recognize the impact first-gen students make on campus and beyond.
